These days social media is everywhere. It is one of the first platforms many organizations turn to for a voice and a large audience. However, there are still a few other platforms to utilize that do not require a Facebook or Twitter page. Some call it old fashioned, but we call it a touch of creativity and personalization.
Anytime you have an opportunity to speak infront of an audience about your organization it should be taken. Local businesses, chamber of commerce and schools are always looking for presenters. Reach out to them and let them know who you are and what you can present. Make sure you bring informative brochures to leave behind including business cards.
A great way to spread the word about your organization is to have interns or ambassadors help you. There are many people who will talk about your organization and share the information to all their friends and family. They have already established trust with their inner circles, and spreading the word will be easy for them, especially if they believe in your cause.
THE GOOD OL’ PHONE CALL
Picking up the phone and calling may require some patience, however this action can have great success. Sometimes people would like to hear a real voice instead of a social media post. You don’t have to call and sell your cause, but you can call and say thank you for attending your last event or follow up on if they are interested in your next event. Personalized email, mail or phone calls are great!
